I'll consider it to be a sort of compliment that they rather let a Euskaltel and a AG2R (2) than just me (1) counterattack. Tried to attack

You only have no chance if you don't try. Maybe a bit too early, and impossible alone, but it was worthed to give it a go.

This stage ranks high in my top-10 hardest races. From start to finish steep long and short climbs. Had to let go 50km to go. It's on #giro

That was a hard end of a long day. Todays last 50km reveals a little of what we're up to tomorrow. Giro2012 will have it's first shift.

Had a nice restday in Mantova. We inspected tomorrows ttt-lap and rode home, 80 km rec.ride. Happy to be in Italy; good hotels and food.

Now off to Italy, Denmark is nice but racing was nervous. Tomorrow restday and than TTT. Don't forget to enroll for the #raboploegentijdrit

Inspection of the TT-circuit learned us that it has a technical 1st and fast 2nd half. Some parts covered by houses, other open and windy.

A tour around Herning today learned us that it's quite similar to Holland here; open and windy. Tomorrow we'll ride the prologue circuit.

After a 2h recovery ride this morning and cleaning my bike, I am now on my way to Schiphol. Flying to Billund for the start of #Giro2012

There's a big race coming up; third out of competition controll in 2 weeks. They are always welcome, it only takes a little time.

That wasn't good enough. Can't put my finger on it yet, but the time doesn't lie. Had confidence, felt good before but at the end I failed.
